Well I finally made it up to Mt Washington. 40cm of new snow and the claim that they were finally opening up the double-black diamond 'Outback'. I was up there for the opnening, but it was far to windy for them to be running some of the lifts, and the amount of snow meant snow stability issues. So I didn't get to check out the new area, but since it was my first time, and tickets were half off, i won't complain. It was snowing like mad all day and at one point, I was trying to find a run, and it was so windy and snowy, i couldn't say anything at all. I got drenched, and quite cold at times, but still had afun. The runs are pretty short, but the snow is so heavy that you still get a workout. however, the wetness of the snow makes the whole experience much less enjoyable. I did get some wicked powder turns in, but for the most part, it was tough going. People said it wasn't that busy, but I thought it was. Anyways, it was fun, but I'm gonna try to convince my mom to go up to Mt Cain tomorrow, which is about 3hrs up the island. It's a community owned ski hill in the middle of nowhere, with dryer snow, and they aren't open during the week, so tomorrow there will be half a metre(!!!) of freshness.
