While I'm typing up my travels, I just wanna know how many people support the BC Teachers strike and how many people are opposed. I have a feeling more people are opposed than I initially thought. I'll humbly share my thoughts at some point, but I'd like to know the spread of opinions, even if it's anonymous,a nd plus, then i can see how many people are checking out the site. leave a comment, fuckers....

It's a tough and rather sticky situation, I find.
Our province has gotten itself to the point where if any large group wants to get anything accomplished the only option they are left with is to strike.
With the teachers situation, I support their choice to strike. I know alot of people who are in districts that have given up things for themselves ( such as wage ) for honorable concessions like keeping class sizes smaller. As time has passed they lost their small class size, and are now in one of the least paid school districts in the province.
For the most part teachers are pretty selfless in their journies. Nobody gets into teaching because its a lucrative career, they do so because they want to help impact peoples lives and teach students. I think they deserve what little they are asking for.
go back to fucken work pussies
the transit striking along with the teachers tomorrow effects a HUGE percentage of the GVRD. I am finding it difficult to stand with them when I am looking at paying for a cab out of my own pocket to get to work. And I *have* to go to work, I can't not be here....
ya, that's a good point. when the transit goes on strike, it forces people to take sides, and those undecided are unlikely to be sympathetic with haveing to take a cab. it might be more supportive if the buses just stuck big signs to the buses, advertising their support for the BCTF. at least it was only one day though for most people, whereas the gov't has to deal with transit strikes all over the province, each day in diff spots.
