Had my second dream about buying a cake at the Golden overwaitea....
Woke up to a full foot of snow, although I'm sure it's settled a few inches. First time this has happened in 8 yrs. Apparently in the Sierra Nevada (mntns b/w Cali & Nev), TEN FEET of snow from this storm. I wish I was a Christian fundamentalist right now, they must be having fun. So in an neat little time lapse I shovelled my driveway for 2 and a half hours straight. Back and joints are sore. Didn't have time to shovel anyone else's driveway, but I helped 3 people get unstuck, stoked on that. Instant karma though, cuz my mom's car died right beside some guy I'd just helped, so he gave us a jump. Didn't get time to go to the ocean today, hopefully tomorow. Looks like a big lake from up here. I wonder why. Power transformers were going crazy in the distance, looked like the wildest northern lights, but dduring the day and under the clouds. One time, me, Colton, and Shawn had eaten mushrooms at the Old Mill, and at like 4am, the brightest flash ripped through the sky, and literally blinded us. This was as the Iraw War was breaking out so we thought it was a nuke. Trippy, to say the least...
So anyways, as dusk fell tonight, the power had been out for a few hoursand my family was gone, so I got to relax inside. Lighted some candles, read my Zen book then took a bath. Just as I came up from beneath the water, my parents got home, and just as I reached to pull the drain-plug, the power came back on. Do you pay attention to coincidences? You should. They mean you're on the right track. You say you don't notice any? Start looking for them and go from there. I love it when the power goes out, it's like I'm a kid again. Plus people are forced to deal with their technology addictions if only briefly. Breaking routine is way too under-rated....
Music:
Aphex Twin - Windowlicker
Boney M - Rasputin (I don't listen to 80s, but there's something about this track, and it's educational too)
